Outsourcing ! - A view from an NRI hit by outsourcing

Guys meet Shanti on her very interesting blog. I have been reading her for some time and I like her. Check out this post by Shanti where she tell us the frustration she is going through, as she is made to teach her replacements how to do her job. Also check out the comments from the readers.
I can not decide which side is right, whether Shanti or her employer. I will be thinking about this.

Deepak/Anup, you would be specially interested in this. Since you guys have been the 'replacement guy' and have frustration due to the lack of support from the 'other side'.

First thing, is that I hate to be called "replacement guy". I am just trying to do my work in a professional manner. My company pays me for whatever work I do. I know it is hard for the US guys when they know that people to whom they are transitioning work are going to replace them.

Another important thing here is that, when Indian programmers go to US for knowledge transfer, they dont learn Java and all there. they go there to understand the application. They donot lack any skill at all and in most of the cases, when the quality of deliverables from so called "replacement guys" is bad, it is because of the lack of cooperation from the US programmers(only programmers, their managers are alwayz helpful) for example, in my last project, the US programmers would deliberately hide the key points, documents and wont provide access to underlying framework. How the hell, then the Indian programmers are supposed to deliver quality products.

Well, the argument can go on and on, there is not end to it. But key point here is that what is happening there in US can happen in India also in a few years. So I am already getting ready for that time, by trying to be a step ahead of others by polishing my skills and trying to learn technologies of the future.

Till this point, what I have written was a professional side of me. On the other side, I would say that I am least bothered by what happens to the people of US, UK and such kind of countries. They never bother when they
exploit us, why should I care about them. May worse happen to them
